Questions churches ask.
Which plan should our church choose?
Starter is for churches of 0–99 people and is free: giving, funds, QR codes and 18A certificates. Growth is for 100–499 people and adds the church operating side: people, attendance, volunteers, events, finance and reporting. Church+ is for 500 people and more, with higher capacity and governance. Each plan keeps everything from the one below it.
What does a gift cost?
The platform fee is R2,50 plus a percentage per successful gift: 1,5% on Starter, 1,25% on Growth, 1% on Church+. It is added on top of the gift and the member sees it before paying, so a R500 tithe on Growth costs the member R508,75. Paystack's card processing fee (2,9% + R1, plus VAT, on the amount paid) comes off at payout: on that tithe it is R18,13, so R481,87 reaches the church's bank. The fee calculator shows every amount, and each payout itemises them.
Is the money safe?
Paystack processes every payment and settles straight into the church's own bank account, two days after the gift. Churpay never holds the money; it records the gift, the fee and the receipt so the treasurer has a full audit trail.
Do members need to download an app?
Members use the Churpay app on iPhone or Android to give, check in and see their giving. Guests can give from a QR code or a link without an account. Church teams use the portal on the web.
Can we move up a plan later?
Yes. Start on Starter or Growth and move up when the congregation, reporting or compliance needs grow. Moving up keeps everything and adds the next plan's features.
How quickly can we start?
Set up takes an afternoon: church details, the admin, the bank account and the papers. We review and verify within a day, and most churches take their first Sunday offering on Churpay the following week.
